A brief smile flickered onto her face as her arms flapped to keep herself above water. “I’m not entirely too busy, Alys, you’ve seen the work I have to do. Triade has to take a break sometime and I enjoy spending time with Lucy. If you want to spend more time together all you have to do is ask, I’m sorry I never considered it. You’re busy too you know, what with all those swords of yours.” She couldn’t help but grin at the light teasing. “I’d offer you some time doing girl things but you’d most likely make a fac- yes that face. You always make that face when I try and pull out a dress or something of the sort. They’re not as bad as you make them out to be.”
She frowned at the mention of ripping it and looked down at the translucent chemise. “But it’s nice…” Eithne sighed and began to swim for shore, her legs desperately trying to kick to help her go farther. Once she was in a close enough distance she slipped it off underwater and swam back out to meet Alys. “Please don’t say anything about my lack of dress, I’d rather be without one than forced to paddle.”
Alys raised a hand and made it look as though it were a mouth. As Eithne steered the conversation into a lecture, the blonde moved the mouth’s jaws up and down, rolling her eyes. But the mouth stopped moving abruptly. “Are you kidding? Of course I have free time, but I didn’t know you had any. I roam around everywhere— I’m not always in sight of you, you know.” As Alys said this, she slowly laid on her back on the water, beginning to float around, her eyes burning with the sun’s rays, so she had to look away, off into the distance. Her mind was trapped in its own pond and forest, its own labyrinth. She sighed as she turned to Eithne again. She did make that face as Eithne suggested girly things. The look was a combination of a few face-gestures that made The Face just what it was: a scrunched up noise, as if smelling expired goat’s milk, her eyebrows furrowed together as though pondering something repulsive, and a stuck-out pink tongue. “Oh? Well, I was thinking of cutting my hair short, actually. Wouldn’t that be just scandalous?” She laughed.
Alys blew the bangs from her eyes. “Well fine! Don’t tear it if you don’t want to.” She bit her tongue, but she was shocked at Eithne’s fearlessness. As she stood there, the blonde laughed again. “Well get in before someone sees then!” Alys would’ve herself, but she had never, not one, felt truly comfortable in her own skin. But she had been here so often that she had just gotten used to swimming like she was now. “I’m not laughing at you, if I laugh, I’m laughing at the action. It’s just… It’s so fearless, Eithne. You’re finally like your hair.” She joked.
